Shift Between Spreadsheets

If you are working on inputting or comparing data you might need to have more than one spreadsheet open at one time. It can get very annoying having to switch back and forth between files. It can also be detrimental to your work if you begin working on the wrong sheet accidentally.

In order to be able to shift between the different files easily use the command key Ctrl + Tab. You can also use this command key for switching between your different Windows tabs while using Firefox.

Quickly Copy and Move Data

If you have been inputting data into a column but now need to copy or move it you can do so easily. First, choose all the data by selecting the column and then guide your cursor to the border. You should see your cursor turn into the crossed arrow icon, and once it has you can then drag the column easily to where it needs to move.

If you want to copy the data, follow the same sequence but before moving it, press the CTRL button. Then you can drag and move it while copying your data into the new column. If you need to quickly export data from another source, check out how to use this C# export to Excel feature.

Easily Add More Than One Column or Row

If you need to add more data in between existing rows or columns, right-click the row or column and select “Add Row” or “Add Column.” If you need to add more than one at a time, it can be time-consuming to add them in this manner.

If you know how many rows or columns you need to add, select the same amount of cells on the spreadsheet and then right-click your highlighted rows. Your new, blank rows, will be added either above or below the rows you highlighted, depending on which you’ve chosen.
